Orizon renews its sponsorship of ‘UA Triatlón’ in a key year for the sport, with Spain hosting its three most important world events

Orizon renews its sponsorship of the University of Alicante triathlon team for the fifth year and adds padel to its support for sport.

Madrid, 6 February 2023. – The technology company Orizon has renewed, for the fifth year, its sponsorship of the University of Alicante triathlon team (UA), as part of the collaboration agreement that the company, an expert in continuous performance improvement for large organisations, has with the university. Renewing this sponsorship is especially meaningful because Spain hosts the sport's three main world events this year: the Multisport World Championships (Ibiza), the European Championships (Madrid) and the World Triathlon Championship Series Grand Final (Pontevedra).

With the Paris 2024 Olympics ahead, it is also a crucial season for some of the team's triathletes. Roberto Sánchez Mantecón, Under-23 world champion and Spain's number two, will compete at the Games, and team members Lasse Lührs, Fabián Villanueva, Luis Miguel Velasquez and Xisca Tous are also fighting for a place in Paris. The team, coached by Roberto Cejuela, who also heads the UA's Sports Office, includes young talents such as Mencía Padilla, Claudia Breso, David Cantero and Eloy Canales.

Orizon's sponsorship of 'UA Triatlón' dates back to 2018 and is the clearest sign of the company's commitment to promoting the values associated with sport, such as effort, the drive to excel, perseverance and teamwork.

This same philosophy has led the company to add padel to its support for sport in Alicante, home to its Technology Centre. Orizon will sponsor the senior amateur team, the Orizon Padel Team, which will compete in the third category of the second edition of the M1Padel Pro Series Drop Shot League, held in Alicante from 4 February to 30 April. Orizon has also sponsored the Alicante Water Polo Club for the past two years, and last year sponsored the LeCraqFC School's high-performance football clinic for under-16s.

According to Ángel Pineda, CEO of Orizon, "continuous performance improvement is our company's reason for being, and it is one of the forces that make sport an exercise in personal and collective self-improvement, but also in respect and solidarity". "We compete in the market in the same spirit, and it is the spirit we pass on to our customers. Beyond technology, it sets us apart, makes us unique and drives us to improve every day."
