Orizon and the University of Alicante sign an agreement for final degree and master's projects

Orizon will propose final degree and master's projects to the University of Alicante on AI and machine learning applied to software optimisation.

Under this agreement, Orizon will send the University of Alicante (UA) proposals for final degree and master's projects, which will be added to the topics offered to students. The company will propose to the coordinators of the UA's Physics and Mathematics degrees and its Master's in Scientific Computing and Modelling topics related to technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning applied to software optimisation and the optimal operation of infrastructure, and Orizon's professionals will also advise the students as they develop them.

The agreement aims to complement the training and skills of the UA's final-year degree and master's students, and to encourage final projects on topics aligned with the areas of knowledge, practice and research identified as strategic in the business technology environment.

This new agreement, signed by the UA's rector, Amparo Navarro, and Orizon's CEO, Ángel Pineda, adds to the internship agreement Orizon has had with the UA since 2018, under which the company has taken on UA students as interns through the "Lanzadera de Talento" (Talent Launchpad) programme promoted by the UA Science Park. In fact, the UA is an important source of talent for Orizon: around 40% of its professionals studied there.

Together with the UA and the Science Park, Orizon also runs various training initiatives, such as seminars and courses, and promotes research in fields such as programming languages, mainframe and cloud computing technologies, automation and AI, and methodologies such as Agile, DevOps and its performance-focused evolution, DevPerOps.

According to the UA's rector, Amparo Navarro, "we are showing that when universities and companies work together, the results are positive for both". "It is very satisfying," Navarro says, "to keep strengthening our collaboration with Orizon, a leading company that contributes directly to making Alicante a strategic point in the Mediterranean Innovation Corridor."
