Unicaja chooses Orizon to optimise its technology platform
Unicaja will use Orizon's technology to optimise the consumption of its business processes on its central system (mainframe).
Madrid, 24 May 2024. – Unicaja has chosen the Spanish company Orizon, which specialises in developing performance solutions, for a project that will allow the bank to optimise the consumption of its different business processes on its central system (mainframe).
Under the agreement now signed, Unicaja will use Orizon's technology to detect any change in the behaviour of its applications from the point of view of its impact on system performance, using key performance indicators (KPIs). The bank will also have visibility and traceability of all its operations, from the user to the different business units.
Unicaja began working with Orizon in 2022 to reduce the processing capacity of its central systems, which has resulted in cost savings and better compliance with the bank's service levels.
Unicaja's Technology Department says that "after our recent technology integration, we continue to work so that all our systems and applications deliver high-level performance, responding with agility to customer demands and business requirements". "Working with Orizon helps to ensure maximum technology performance and positions us as a leading bank in adopting best practices," they added.
Unicaja has extended its agreement with Orizon until the end of 2024 to keep pursuing the performance and, consequently, cost objectives the bank has set for this period. The bank also wants to extend a culture of performance within the organisation, following the set-up of a Performance Technical Office (OTR) based on Orizon's own methodology and technology, called BOA.
BOA, the OTR's working platform
BOA, the technology developed by Orizon and the basis of its OTR, works in five phases: capturing data from the bank's infrastructure, building an inventory of processes and periodic detections, analysing the data and detecting opportunities for improvement, following up software developments, and verifying how the proposed recommendations contribute to meeting the objectives set.
According to Ángel Pineda, CEO of Orizon, "we are very proud to have Unicaja's trust and to contribute our unique methodology and technology to ensuring its competitiveness". "The opportunities opened up by adopting a standard of continuous performance improvement in a complex, fast-changing technology environment are enormous, and this new project," he stressed, "shows how, based on a culture of performance and the use of best practices, it is possible to reduce infrastructure costs while improving the efficiency, availability and response time of applications."
